- HomeWelcome to Vitality Rolfing, LLC I hope this website will be a great resource for you as you learn more about the potential of Rolfing® Structural Integration in your life. The main goal of Rolfing is to assist others in achieving a more efficient relationship with gravity. If you feel like you are working against gravity, or wish you had the grace and ease of movement as in your youth, explore further how the process of Rolfing can help you achieve your structural goals. Holism is an important concept in the Rolfing paradigm as nothing occurs in the human body in isolation. Every impact to our body, whether it is falling off a bicycle in our youth or being involved in an automobile accident, is still present in our physical structure. It is not until these incidences limit our activity that we are forced to deal with them. As a Rolfer, I am interested in all of these past events as they become clues to solving the structural intervention needs of each client. If this process sounds interesting to you and you think you are ready for a new approach to your health give me a…
- RolfingRolfing® Structural Integration Rolfing Structural Integration offers a combination of hands-on bodywork and movement education. It manipulates the body’s connective tissue to rebalance the body and bring relief from chronic pain, stress, and injury. Using their fingers, hands, and elbows, Rolfers slowly work through deep layers of tissue to change structural patterns in the body by transforming fascial patterns and releasing restrictions. Results can be dramatic, and the process is not necessarily painful as it has been shown to be more effective if the body is more at ease during the work. Rolf Movement Integration offers education about one’s body, so one can recognize habitual movement patterns and learn to move with greater ease, flexibility, and freedom of expression whether simply walking or performing some special activity. Professional athletes, dancers, children, business professionals, and people from all walks of life have benefited from Rolfing Structural Integration.
- ProcessTen Series The Rolfing® Ten Series is an intelligent approach to structural integration, originally designed by Dr. Ida P. Rolf. Though the Rolfing Ten Series provides a guide for the Rolfing practitioner and client, additional Rolfing sessions can occur outside of this sequence. Below is a brief outline of this series: Sessions 1-3 (Sleeve) These first three sessions involve the “Sleeve” muscles and associated fascia of the body. They involve working on the larger more peripheral muscles of the body as a way of preparing for deeper “core” work in later sessions. Establishing differentiated muscles in the sleeve enables the Rolfing practitioner to address the deeper holdings of the body, which often are the culprits of nagging pain, discomfort, and structural abnormalities. Session 1 involves working on the breath, or heart space, of the body. This session also includes working on the rib “basket” as we call it because of the dynamic nature of a healthy ribcage. The arms, pelvis, and respiratory diaphragm are also addressed, the extent dependent upon client needs. The important connection between the breath and the nervous system is of great importance. Breath, if uncontrolled and random, can stimulate more of the sympathetic nervous system bringing rise…
- FAQIs Rolfing® Structural Integration painful? No! Unfortunately, Rolfing® Structural Integration has the reputation of being painful and overwhelmingly intense. Though first generation Rolfers, including Dr. Rolf, used more direct and often painful techniques, years of research and practice have resulted in more effective and less intense approaches. I work closely with each client to ensure that the techniques that I am using are working for them. Do the results gained from Rolfing® Structural Integration last? Yes, the structural changes gained from each Rolfing® session and following the Rolfing® Ten Series last. It is common during the series to have set backs as the clients body adjusts from subsequent sessions. However, the final outcomes when given time to integrate have the potential to last for years. It is important for clients to understand that once they achieve greater mobility and freedom in their bodies that they need to be vigilant in changing the movement patterns that caused the structural discomfort in the first place. For example, if an office worker returns to the same inefficient sitting and standing posture after completing the Rolfing® Ten Series than the likelihood of maintaining the structural gains is poor. This is why I include movement…

- Services & RatesRolfing® Structural Integration sessions Sessions are individualized for each client while maintaining consistency with the Rolfing® Ten Series designed by Dr. Ida P. Rolf. The duration of each session varies from 75 – 90 minutes. In addition to hands-on Rolfing palpations, sessions include mobility assessments, movement education activities, and recommendations for clients to improve the quality of their movement in the workplace and in their home. Price per Rolfing session: $100.00 (Adult) Veterans discount – Price per Rolfing session: $80.00 Rolfing® Structural Integration sessions for children Sessions for children (ages infant – 12 years old) involve shorter sessions lasting between 45 – 60 minutes. These sessions are also non-formulaic in that the Rolfing® Ten Series is not an appropriate method of meeting young people’s structural needs. I will work close with parents and child to identify the goals for each session. Rolfing® Structural Integration has been shown to be effective in addressing structural abnormalities stemming from traumatic childbirth experiences as well as conditions following accidents or sports related injuries. Price per Rolfing session: $50.00 (Child, infant to 12 years old)

Testimonials
Rolfing came to me as a last-ditch effort on a ten year path of recovery from a bicycle accident. My body had become unrecognizable to me, deformed, in pain and far from the athlete I use to be.
Tami, Boulder Colorado
I work at a computer for many hours each day. As a result I have frequent neck and shoulder stiffness and pain. I was skeptical of Rolfing at first, but after a few sessions I really feel better than I have in years!
